All of my previous websites (the expired ones xD), and this recent one are my playing grounds. Every time I need to learn new nerdy kinds of stuff, I learn by doing and deploying them. This is also my online portfolio.
Some of my friends ask me if I am using a readily available content engine, for example, WordPress to do my websites. Or say CSS library for the design like Bootstrap or Material UI. Well, I simply say no. I am not a software engineer for nothing (hehe). What I mean is, I love doing stuff from scratch – if I can do it. The design of this website is not based on a library or a design framework. I only used simple cascading style sheet rules to have this kind of very beautifeel look of my site. Haha. I believe using frameworks that aren't necessarily needed is an overhead to the entire system. See, I think I already mentioned on my home page I invested time in doing UI and UX methodologies for years now. This way, I can do frontend and backend systems at the same time.
I also mentioned that I was writing blog content way back. However, I can't find enough time to regularly post articles. Besides, most of the writing I did are all technical stuff and there are many already published online. How about writing something different perhaps? Something not about work. Something that everybody can enjoy reading and relate to, not just the techie ones. As of the moment, I am thinking of writing content about “rural leaving”, about how moving to a rural area after living in the city for many years. Catching fish in the river and going to the mountain heights, growing your vegetable garden and more like these? — those kinds of things. And of course, a different website of a different name.
